The Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Mahasabha the apex social and cultural Bishnupriya Manipuri organization, established in 1932 expressed serious concern at the abduction of Sri Sangram Singha a veteran senior journalist associated with the leading publication of Bangladesh, The Daily Jugantar, at Sylhet, Bangladesh.
The Mahasabha strongly demanded that the Government of Bangladesh should immediately arrest and punish the culprits. The Mahasabha also expressed and requested the Government of Bangladesh to protect the lives of the Bishnupriya Manipuris in Bangladesh.

| PLATINUM JUBILEE AND 43rd ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF NIKHIL BISHNUPRIYA MANIPURI MAHASABHA : Reported by biplab sinha |

The Platinum Jubilee of the Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Mahasabha and 43rd Annual Conference will be held at Guldharpur (Bimal Nagar), Rudra Singh Higher Secondary School, Kailasahar, Tripura on 13-14 & 15th February 2009 as conveyed by Mr. Uday Sinha, the Secretary General.
The itinerary once finalized will be conveyed to our readers. He further conveyed that he is expecting a good turnover not just from Tripura, Assam or the North Eastern states where there is a sizable Bishnupriya Manipuri population, but also from other parts of India and Bishnupriya Manipuris residing abroad.
