( An article to me is at times boring. They are sometimes, untrue, manipulated, self serving and in some cases downright pretentious. However, a letter I feel is more forthcoming in its very DNA. You complain, praise, abuse, talk, write  – and its likely to be very honest. This letter emailed to us  by Biswajit Chatterjee  is something we wanted to share in it's own entity. Initially we were planning to put it up in the site's  'Feedback' section as a natural instinct. However something about the letter changed our minds. No. It doesn't have bombastic words or complex sentences. It doesn't even have anything new to say. Thats perhaps not the writer's intention. But Biswajit Chatterjee does put across to us a  powerful thought. A very powerful thought.
We present this letter to you not to chest thump as he has a few pleasant words for us, but to essentially tell ourselves that YES, we Bishnupriya Manipuris do have our own reasons to feel good about each other – if we intend to. Dear All,
Thanks to the  bunch- Jyotirmoy, BN Sinha and Henry Sinha for all their hard work  in the http://www.bishnupriyamanipuri.org (homepage in my notepad), where even a thousand clicks a day seems less to me.
Over the years in Delhi, I have always found it difficult to reveal my own identity when being asked. Though people from our community are well advanced in all aspects, we don't get recognition of our community. A person is not happy merely with his success until and unless his identity is recognized. To some extent we feel that we are left a bit far behind.
On my last visit , I attended a Sabha(meeting) in Patherkandi wherein I shared about this site and its initiative with all the members. Its nice to find that most of the people over there are as inclined for the well-being of our community as we are here in Delhi. I sent the site link (through sms) to as many people as I could to make all aware of all the happenings through this website.
Girigithani, please lets not simply bank upon those dedicatedly involved people and work together for the wel-being of our community, offer assistance to the needy, bring the poor to an economic level where they can begin to act in a similar respect toward others. Thanks to Debdas Sinha (IMABABA  solutions) for his willingness to share the opportunities with aamaar maanu on this site.
I found that most people elsewhere are unaware of most of the happenings in Delhi and similarly we are unaware of what they are doing at the other end. In fact, there is an immense communication gap among all Bishnupriya Manipuris across the globe. So, once we are able to build a common source of communication through this website, we can then challenge to any restrains and achieve our goals easily. As Gingrich says, "If 'society' is responsible for everything, then no one is personally responsible for anything.... Without personal responsibility there cannot be freedom. It is just that simple."
We are courageous, we are talented. Our Bishnupriya Manipuri ningolpis  (girl) look like angels in our traditional attire (angaluri, inafi and a namsa). Our staple delicious foods like, paltoi, usoir irolpa are out of the world!

When we are out with Dhak, dol and Kartal (cymbals), we roar like thousand lions!

In this vast changing world of rave  parties, we can not forget our fascinating festivals like Rathyatra and Rashlila. In short, we are well advanced in the fields of Arts, Music, Dance, Education, Literature. We are no less than people of other communities in any aspects.

Girigithani, lets be proud that we belong to this talented community and salute all those who are dedicatedly involved towards the development of the Bishnupriya Manipuri community.
