www.bishnupriyamanipuri.org started off their first Direct Mail campaign to promote the Bishnupriya Manipuri language.

The website congratulated Mr. Nirmalendu Mukherjee and Mrs.Nandita Mukherjee on having their first bonny child a few months back. Further the new parents were requested to encourage their child to speak in Bishnupriya Manipuri along with other Indian languages keeping in mind that a lot of urban centric Bishnupriya Manipuris do not speak in their mother tongue.

The campaign generated a very positive response as evident from what Mr. Nirmalendu Mukherjee who works as a Sr. Engineer wrote on his email, “Bishnupriya Manipuri would definitely be the first language in which my baby, Gopal will speak and communicate. Only then he would learn any other language.”

He even sent us a photograph of the little stud!
